Tuesday, February 11 the representatives of Energy Invest Holding met with the Economic and Commercial Officer of the U.S. Embassy in Yerevan, Mr. Christopher C. Ellis and the Commercial Assistant of the Political and Economic Section of the Embassy, Mr. Tigran Tananyan.  Among the topics discussed were the construction progress of the Executive Coaching and Training Institute (ECTI) and development prospective of renewable and alternative energy sectors of Armenia.

As regards the ECTI, the US Embassy officers were informed that this vocational training center will offer re-qualification trainings for the energy sector specialists to enable them to adapt to the new job market conditions and requirements.  Particularly, ECTI and University College London have agreed over setting up a long-term training program tailored to the area of renewables, ecological issues.

The first train-the-trainers course was delivered on September 4-6 by Dr. Lorenzo Lotti, Senior Teaching Fellow and Dr. Tobias Reinauer, Teaching Fellow of Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources, UCL.  The program of the course was focused on addressing an identified knowledge gap in renewables, environmental economics, behavioral economics and innovation in relation to the energy sector.  It was largely modelled on the master’s programs of UCL's Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources and adapted to focus on the economics and policy of energy and the environment.

Mr. Ellis reiterated that the U.S. Embassy welcomes participation of U.S. businesses in major development projects in Armenia and will support efforts to further promote mutually-beneficial cooperation between Armenian and American businesses.
