“Debed Hydro” LLC has awarded Pöyry with the Engineering Services and Consultancy Services contract for the Feasibility Study for Shnogh Hydroelectric Project in Republic of Armenia

On December 29, 2017 “Debed Hydro” LLC has awarded Pöyry with the Engineering Services and Consultancy Services contract for the Feasibility Study for Shnogh Hydroelectric Project in Republic of Armenia.

The Shnogh Project is located along the Debed river in northern Armenia close to the Georgian boarder. The intake dam is located on the Debed river a few kilometres downstream of the confluence of the Pambak and Dzoraget rivers. The outlet of the tailrace tunnel is located on the Debed river approx. 20 km downstream of the intake near the village of Neghots.

As per the signed contract, Pöyry will review the existing documents, which will be made available by “Debed Hydro” LLC, and will undertake the following studies: Meteorology, Hydrology & Sedimentology; Topography; Geology & Engineering Geology; Analysis and Interpretation of additional Geotechnical Field Investigations; Construction Materials Studies; Water Resources Planning & Reservoir and Plant Operation Studies; Environmental & Social Screening; and Seismicity.

Pöyry will provide reports on Hydraulic Design of the Alternatives; Feasibility Design of the Selected Alternatives; Construction Schedule; BoQ & Cost Estimate; and Economic Evaluation.

The Feasibility Study is planned to be completed by June 2018.
