Development of solar technology has no alternative in Armenia since we do not possess oil or gas in order to able to project the energy development in a different direction, said the Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Armenia Hayk Harutyunyan in the interview to "First Informational".

According to Hayk Harutyunyan, Armenia has significant solar resources.

Many may object me saying that the sun shines in all countries. However, our geographical location, clean air, natural and climatic conditions, and other factors are truly exceptional for solar technologies.

The results of assessments produced on the basis of modern technologies indicate that Armenia has exceptional conditions for the development of solar energy. The necessary legislative base has been formed for this purpose. Also, a number of programs have been launched.
