Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan signed an agreement on the connection of energy systems of 3 countries

On August 12, Russia, Azerbaijan, and Iran have signed an agreement for the joint development of a Feasibility Study for a project of creating a North-South energy corridor between the energy systems of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation.

From Russia, the parties to the agreement were its representatives - System Operator and Rosseti companies, from Azerbaijan - Azerenerji, from Iran - the Iranian Tavanir Energy Generation, Transmission, and Distribution Management Company.
